What is EdVenture?
EdVenture is a social enterprise that aims to become a launchpad for many high-school students to excel in their unique ways by equipping them with the right mindset and skills before venturing into post-school pathways. Key offerings include tutoring, workshops, and mentorship.
Who runs EdVenture?
EdVenture is currently run by a group of Malaysian undergraduates. Kindly check out our Instagram for more!
Students
What subjects are being offered by EdVenture?
We are currently offering Additional Math, Modern Math, Chemistry, and Sejarah. Stay tuned for more updates as we are recruiting more tutors to expand our offerings!
What language will the class be conducted in?
The class will be conducted in dual-language, Bahasa Malaysia and English.
On what platform will the classes be conducted?
All classes will be conducted on Gather town, an interactive learning platform.
What is the duration of each class?
For each subject, all classes will be held for 2 hours per session per week.
Do I need to pay for the tuition classes?
B40 students are eligible for the exemption of tuition fees. Students can declare themselves as part of the B40 group upon signup. Confirmation will be notified after the in-house screening.
Otherwise, students are required to pay RM50 per subject to cover our tutors' wages and operating expenses.
What else does EdVenture offer besides tutoring?
We will be hosting occasional workshops with exciting panels and mentorships to provide students with additional support.
Tutors
How do I apply as a tutor?
Kindly visit our tutor recruitment tab to know more details. Subsequently, there will be an interview for us to get to know you better!
What is the criteria to become a tutor?
Our tutors must meet the 3 criteria below:
1. A or above for relevant SPM subjects
2. A minimum of 1-year tutoring experience
3. Confident in handling a virtual class (10 pax)
How much will I be paid as a tutor?
Tutors will be paid at a competitive rate (per hour).
How long must a tutor commit to the program?
We encourage tutors to commit at least 3 months to ensure all students receive high-quality educational support.
Are tutors allowed to pull out halfway?
Tutors are required to provide us with a 1-month notice so that we are able to recruit another tutor.
What subjects can tutors apply for?
Our subjects include Additional and Modern Math, Chemistry, Sejarah. On the other hand, we are also recruiting tutors who are capable to teach Physics and Biology.
